Simple homemade donut holes- a recipe that anyone can make! Cinnamon flavored donuts with sugar topping make for a perfect weekend treat! The ingredients are simple and likely already in your kitchen-flour, eggs, cinnamon, sugar, vegetable oil, butter, milk, baking powder.
These are a simple, perfect recipe for a lazy weekend!
I love heading to town on a weekend to pick up fresh made donuts, but had never tried making them myself. After a little research, I figured out a recipe, and these were a hit! I had always been intimidated by donuts but they were much easier than I thought!
Make sure to check the temperature of the oil
Live and learn, and I did with this recipe. The first batch I fried up were black within a minute, and gooey inside. I checked the temperature of my oil and it was well over 400 F, oops. The next batch was right at 350 F and cooked much more evenly. Towards the end, I tried to add more donuts in at one time and noticed that it took longer to make (the oil cooled down), but they were still great tasting!
Another weekend treat I enjoy making are these Vanilla Pudding Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Be cautious making the donut hole recipe – don’t burn yourself!
The oil is HOT and will splatter. Be as cautious as possible when making these. Don’t want to burn yourself or your children.
Are homemade donut holes good as leftovers?
No, these simple homemade donut holes will not taste as good leftover. Try to eat them as fresh as possible- without burning your tongue!
