Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 lb sirloin tip roast if larger or smaller, may affect cook time.
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tbsp ground pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your smoker to 225 degrees. Prepare the sirloin roast by patting the roast dry with a paper towel.
  • Use a pastry brush to spread a layer of olive oil over the roast on all sides.
  • Use a small bowl to mix the seasonings. Rub them into the roast. (you can really use any seasonings you'd like.
  • Once prepared, add the roast to the smoker. Let smoke at 225 F for about 2 hours, or until internal temp reads 135 F, or to your preferred doneness.
  • Remove from the grill and let it "rest" for about 10 minutes before slicing into. I like to slice mine thin to use for both hot and cold sandwiches'. It tastes good just plain, too!

Notes

Use this smoked meat in sandwiches, sliders or eat just plain. It also tastes great as a cold meat sandwich- no more ordering deli meat from the store! (it can be tricky to slice thin, but manageable!)
