Ground beef flattened on a tortilla and grilled to perfection. The tortilla soaks up the delicious beef flavor and crisps. Topped with sautéd onions, and a delicious mayo-based big mac-like sauce! Your family will love this smash burger taco. Makes a perfect field meal!
Flatten raw burger thinly on each tortilla. I did 3-4 tortillas with 1 lb of hamburger. Sprinkle with seasonings such as sea salt, pepper, garlic or onion powder.
Once griddle is hot, throw the tortilla burger mix on the griddle. Hamburger side down! Cook for approximately 6 minutes, smashing down a couple of times. Throw the diced onions on the griddle at the same time and sauté until soft.
Then flip to the tortilla side, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes. Top with slices of cheese while cooking the tortilla side.
While burgers are cooking, mix all of the sauce ingredients together.
Top the burger with sauce and favorite topping such as lettuce, pickles, guacamole.
Notes
Replace the Thai Chili sauce with another sauce if preferred, like mustard, hot sauce. It’s pretty flexible recipe!Serve with a side salad, grilled veggies or French fries. This is a handy field meal as it’s not terribly messy. Just add a few napkins with it!Nutrition info is an estimate.Leftover Instructions:these do taste best fresh. I would warm in air fryer to reheat so the meal crisps back up. Does not freeze well.
