1 pan or dutch oven
measuring utensils
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded can use canned
- 2 tbsp ranch seasoning or one packet
- 2 cups penne noodles
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 4 oz cream cheese can use light
- 4 slices bacon cooked & crumbled
- 1 tbsp parsley
- 2-3 tbsp milk if needed to thin out
- 1 tsp minced garlic
If you need to brown chicken, first brown chicken in the pan. If you are using already cooked chicken, skip this step.
Once chicken is cooked, add ranch seasoning, garlic and combine.
Have heat on medium and add chicken broth & noodles to the chicken mix. Let boil for about 15 minutes until pasta is cooked to your liking.
Add cream cheese to the mix and stir until melted.
Add bacon and shredded cheese. Stir until cheese is fully melted. If the pasta is too thick, add a few tablespoons of milk to thin it out.
Garnish with parsley if preferred, and enjoy!
NOTES:
You could substitute penne noodles with elbow macaroni, shells, etc.
Light cream cheese tastes great in place of regular cream cheese.
You can used pre-cooked bacon if you don't have time to cook bacon, and canned chicken, rotisserie in place of making your own shredded chicken.
I like to purchase a large amount of chicken, and cook in instant pot or crock pot. Shred, and freeze into 2 cup increments to use for recipes such as this.
